From Moinaguri in the Cooch Behar district of North Bengal, heading towards Helapakri, one encounters a turn at the water tank. A little further from the water tank is Khayer Khal village. A part of Khayer Khal village is known as Arjuner Bari, named after Arjun who, it is believed, lived in the region a long time ago. A branch of the Saniyajan River flows through this area, which has formed a billabong due to the slowing of the river’s current.
Goddess of snakes greek mythology, North Bengal goddess Next to this billabong is the shrine of Pagli Devi, a serene place surrounded by greenery. The area features narrow winding paths flanked by lush fields and a bamboo forest nearby. Adjacent to the bamboo forest are two open-fronted shelters made of cement with three walls and tin roofs. Inside one of these shelters is the idol of Bil Pagli Devi. Another shelter houses the statues of Sannyasi Thakur and Pettani. Beside these, there is a shrine for Brindabani Devi, enclosed with bamboo.
