Dealing with fake calls is a common frustration, and many people have fallen victim to scams through these calls. To address this issue, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is introducing new regulations.
TRAI new rules 2024 fake calls
Starting September 1, 2024, TRAI will implement new rules to tackle fake calls. According to the new regulations, telecom operators will be held responsible for fake calls made through their networks. If a phone number is found to be involved in making fake calls, it will be blacklisted for two years. This new measure aims to prevent telemarketing and promotional calls that use mobile numbers improperly.
Fake calls cause significant annoyance to many people, and TRAI's new initiative is expected to help resolve this problem. The government hopes that these new rules will reduce the number of unwanted and fraudulent calls people receive.
